Sterfive Trademark Policy
This document outlines the policy and guidelines for the use of the trademarks owned by Sterfive SAS. Sterfive is the owner of the registered trademark "Sterfive" and the associated logos, as well as the project name "NodeOPCUA".

Sterfive's trademarks include:

NodeOPCUA™: This is used to refer to Sterfive's open-source technology published on GitHub.
Our Philosophy
We believe in the power of open source and community collaboration. This policy is designed to protect the integrity of the Sterfive and NodeOPCUA names while allowing the community to use them in ways that are beneficial to the ecosystem. We want to ensure that when you see the Sterfive or NodeOPCUA name, you can be confident in the source and quality of the software and services associated with them.
General Guidelines for Using Our Trademarks
You are welcome to use the Sterfive and NodeOPCUA trademarks in accordance with this policy.
### What You Can Do
Refer to our products and services: You can use the "Sterfive" and "NodeOPCUA" names to refer to our company, products, and the NodeOPCUA open-source project.

✅ State compatibility: You can state that your software is compatible with or runs on NodeOPCUA. For example, "My Awesome App, powered by NodeOPCUA" is acceptable.

✅ Link to our websites: You can use the Sterfive logo to link to the sterfive.com website.

✅ Community advocacy: You can use the trademarks in community forums, tutorials, and other educational materials to discuss and promote the NodeOPCUA project.
What You Cannot Do (Without a Written Agreement):

❌ Use our trademarks in your company or product name: You may not use "Sterfive" or "NodeOPCUA" or any confusingly similar name as part of your company, product, service, or domain name.

❌ Modify our logos: You may not alter the Sterfive logo in any way, including changing the colors, font, or proportions.

❌ Imply endorsement: You may not use our trademarks in a way that suggests an official endorsement or partnership with Sterfive unless you have a formal agreement with us.

❌ Use our trademarks on physical goods: You may not use our trademarks on merchandise for sale without our express written permission.
Specific Guidelines for NodeOPCUA
NodeOPCUA is an open-source project solely own by Sterfive and released under the MIT license. The license grants you broad permissions to use, copy, modify, and distribute the code. However, the MIT license does not grant you any rights to use Sterfive's trademarks.
When you use the NodeOPCUA name, please adhere to the following:

Acknowledge the source: When distributing your own products or services that use NodeOPCUA, it is good practice to acknowledge the project. For example, you could include a statement like, "This product includes software developed by the NodeOPCUA project (https://github.com/node-opcua/node-opcua)."

Distinguishing your modifications: If you have modified the NodeOPCUA source code, you must make it clear that your version is not the official version from Sterfive. You should use a different name for your modified version to avoid confusion.
